Foster Care and Adoption in Milwaukee County

In cases where children may not be safe with their family of origin and no extended family can care for the child, Children's Court may order the child to be placed in a foster home. Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services and SaintA partner with DMCPS to recruit, train, and license foster families. Ongoing Case Managers assist the foster family in meeting the needs of the children and facilitate visits by parents when allowed.

Foster and Adoptive Parent Orientation

If you have ever thought of becoming a foster or adoptive parent, now is the time to take the first step. DMCPS has two agencies that recruit, license, and support foster parents. Please attend one of the orientation sessions to learn more about fostering.
