Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) and Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA)

Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) and Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA) are programs made to give temporary help to new refugees.  RCA is a starting place for new refugees who are not eligible for W-2, SSI or Match Grant.  Assistance is available for the first eight months a refugee is in the country.  All RCA recipients must also enroll in an employment program to help them find a job as quickly as possible.

RMA is a part of the Medical Assistance (MA) program, providing an MA card and benefits to needy refugees who are not eligible for MA due to different reasons.  This type of assistance is also only available for the first eight months a refugee is in the country.
